Pricing and access

How is Pincites licensed? Pincites is licensed on a per-user basis. Access is managed at the organization level by admins. Does Microsoft 365 cover the Pincites Word add-in? No. The Microsoft subscription does not include Pincites. The Word add-in is part of the Pincites product and must be approved or deployed according to your organization’s Microsoft 365 governance policies.

Functionality

What file formats are supported? Pincites works with Microsoft Word .docx files and .pdf files opened in Word. Legacy .doc files should be converted to .docx before use. Documents converted from PDFs may have formatting limitations depending on the conversion quality. Can Pincites read tracked changes? Yes. Pincites can read and analyze all tracked changes in Word documents and the dates each were made, including multiple rounds of edits. Can Pincites read existing comments? Yes. Pincites can read existing comments in Word documents as well as who wrote them. Comments are used as context during review. Can Pincites generate comments? Yes. When Pincites generates redlines, it can also generate associated comments. You can set specific tones for your comments in your Company Profile(s). Can Pincites draft language from scratch? Yes. Pincites can draft clauses or sections from scratch, though it is most effective when working from existing templates or documents. Can I work across multiple documents? Yes. Pincites supports workflows that involve reviewing, comparing, and analyzing more than one document. Is the tool more helpful for simpler agreements like NDAs, or can it tackle more complex and much longer agreements? The tool is most helpful for simpler agreements but it can also handle more complex and longer agreements. The more complex the agreement, the more you have to prompt. Can the AI directly trigger reviews directly from email? Pincites has an email integration that allows users to forward an email for analysis. You’ll receive a redlined contract with a summary of outstanding issues by email.

Playbooks and review standards

Can we bring our own playbooks? Yes. Existing playbooks can be used as inputs to guide review behavior. What if we don’t have a playbook today? Many teams start without formal playbooks. Playbooks can be built from templates and historical redlines during structured working sessions. What documents are best for creating playbooks? Templates and early-stage redlines showing your team’s preferred responses are ideal. Fully negotiated agreements are less useful without context on why specific language was accepted. Can playbooks be updated over time? Yes. Playbooks are meant to evolve as contract positions, risk tolerance, and business needs change. AI will suggest changes to your playbooks based on your negotiation patterns.

Research and analysis

Can Pincites perform legal research across the web? Yes. Pincites supports legal research workflows that retrieve and synthesize information from the web, with citations where applicable. Does Pincites rely on external data sources during research? When research is performed, Pincites may retrieve publicly available information and surface it with references.

Training and onboarding

Do you provide recorded demo or training videos? Training is primarily delivered through live walkthroughs to ensure teams see the most current product behavior. Sessions are often recorded and shared after the fact. How long does onboarding typically take? Most teams are productive within weeks. Initial onboarding typically includes a kickoff, a small number of live training sessions, and periodic check-ins.

Privacy and security

Will counterparties know that Pincites was used? No. Documents do not include any indicator that Pincites was used. All changes and comments appear as authored by the user. Does Pincites stamp or watermark documents? No, the Word document will only make changes or comments as you the author. No one will ever see that it was co-reviewed by Pincites. Is content shared between users? Content is scoped to your organization and governed by your access controls.

Technical details

What AI models does Pincites use? Pincites uses a combination of large language models selected for different tasks. Model selection may change over time to improve performance. Are there document size limits? Pincites can support up to 1000 pages. Very large documents may have practical limits. For unusually large or complex documents, guidance can be provided. What happens when a chat is reset? Resetting a chat clears the current session context. Users can start a new interaction with the document.

IT, security, and governance

What does IT need to be involved in? Typically approving and deploying the Microsoft Word add-in, configuring SSO if applicable, and managing organization-specific governance requirements. How does authentication work? Pincites uses Microsoft authentication. Users sign in with their Microsoft account, and the Microsoft tenant ID is used to associate them with the correct organization. Can admins control access and permissions? Yes. Admins can manage users, roles, and organization-wide settings.

Enterprise and governance

How does Pincites work in environments with strict add-in governance? For enterprise customers with strict governance policies around add-ins, please contact your organization administrator or reach out to support@pincites.com. We can work with your IT team to ensure proper deployment and governance of Pincites. What admin controls are available? Admins can manage users, roles, permissions, and organization-wide settings. What happens if an organization is disabled? When an organization is disabled, access is immediately revoked on the next request.

Support

What support is available during rollout? Support typically includes live training sessions, office hours during rollout, and Slack, email or chat support as needed. Who should we contact with questions or issues? Your designated implementation contact or the Pincites support team.
