Opening the add-in

See How to Download Pincites for installation instructions.
  1. Open your Word document
  2. Click the Pincites icon in the ribbon (or go to Add-ins and select Pincites)
  3. Drag the icon onto the ribbon to pin it for quick access
The Pincites sidebar opens on the right side of your document.

Initial setup

When you first open the add-in for a document, Pincites identifies key information:
  • Profile: The company context used for review (e.g., “The GOG Foundation, Inc.”)
  • Playbook: The set of checks and rules applied to the document (e.g., “CTA Playbook”)
You can confirm or change these at the bottom of the sidebar before proceeding. The sidebar has two tabs:
  • Playbook: Run a playbook review and see pass/fail results for each check
  • Composer: Chat with AI, ask questions, and draft content

Using the Playbook tab

The Playbook tab runs your playbook against the document and shows results for each check.

Review interface

  • Progress bar: Shows how many issues you’ve reviewed (e.g., “1 of 35 issues reviewed”)
  • Save redlines: Apply all accepted changes to the document
  • Search: Find specific checks by name
  • Sort: Reorder checks by name or status
  • Filter tabs: All, Failed (red), or Passed (green)

Reviewing issues

  1. Click any check to see details
  2. Review the flagged language and suggested redline
  3. Accept or reject the suggestion
  4. Move to the next issue
Focus on Failed checks first to address items that need attention.
